Sodium Laureth Sulfate, also know as Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES), is an anionic surfactant found in most personal care products (shampoos, hand soaps, shower gels and even toothpaste). A very cost effective and stable foaming agent with excellent detergency, wetting and emulsifying properties. SLES provides a rich foam with longevity and stability especially in conjunction with secondary surfactants such as Cocamidipropyl betaine or Cocamide DEA, with great cleansing, emulsifying and desoiling characteristics. It is highly valued for its low skin irritation and for being readily biodegradable.
